WHAT MAKES A LUXURY CANDLE
I began my roots in the Caribbean, where vivid aromas and sweet, unfamiliar scents are part of
everyday life. I distinctively remember going to the market with my grandmother daily to buy that
day’s meals and just soaking up the smells of the market’s freshness. I was always so struck by
the scents of melons, mangos, vanilla beans, etc. I see now why creating a candle line was
always in my desires.
In today’s world, luxury means craftsmanship and quality. Curating a premium candle calls for
the same precision as any luxury product. Fragrance, wax, wick and vessel all must work
together to deliver an elevated experience to be packaged. Inspiration can come from
memories, foods, clothing, art. For my first signature line, I was in my Female Empowerment
era. This is an era I will always be in. Now I’m in my Corporate Girlie mode! In our current
times where we can sometimes fail to be appreciative and kind to each other, I feel that this is
only the next step for me. I’ve designed 5 signature scents and included notes of patchouli,
white flora, cashmere, vanilla bean, grapefruit and other scents that speak to the corporate
world and how they appreciate their clients and staff.
I like to use a good quality wax that is a blend of premium soy and coconut apricot to ensure a
clean, even burn and to deliver a full scent experience without overpowering a room. Our
lead‑free cotton wicks support an even burn and prevent soot, while our matte vessels and gift
boxes or velvet pouches support our modern luxury aesthetic. We also offer a candle care kit
with a stainless‑steel wick trimmer and snuffer to maintain each candle’s elegance.
